Meal Plan Tips and Tricks

Freezer Tips:

  • Freeze extra produce so that it doesn’t go to waste. For example, when berry picking during the summer, wash and freeze them before they go bad.

  • Can be used for veggies that you are worried you will not use in time.

  • Freeze and package meals to eat throughout the week. Make sure you date your items!

  • Keep frozen veggies and other items on hand for the time that you maybe don’t have time to go grocery shopping.

Prep Tips:

  • Wash and chop vegetables ahead of time so that they are ready to be made for meals. So all you have to do is grab and put it in the pan or oven.

  • Prep sauces, grains, and beans to use throughout the week.

  • Make some meals ahead of time and package them into pre portioned containers so that you can grab and go if needed.

Other Tips:

  • Try to make recipes that use similar ingredients throughout the week.

  • Try to only go grocery shopping once a week. This will significantly decrease the amount of items that you do not need.

  • Store your produce properly to help it last longer.

  • Buy in bulk if it makes sense for your family and the amount of people in your household.
